Flame propagation and CO/CO2 generation characteristics of lignite dust explosion in horizontal pipeline

Abstract To reveal the flame propagation and CO/CO2 generation characteristics of coal dust explosion, lignite cloud is studied through experiment numerical simulation in a horizontal pipeline apparatus. The result indicated that within 0.5 s after distance rapidly increases until explosion reaction sufficient. FLUENT used to simulate characteristics. It found error acceptable consistent with experimental result. space divided into five zones by simulating temperature. also revealed z = 0.3 ~ 0.6 m generates more CO because it closed ignition zone. As spreads pipeline, generated accumulates bottom CO2 upper part pipeline.
